Sound engineering company, GGRP, has come up with a very cool and innovative way to show off their technical expertise – by going low-tech. What the company can do is offer a record contained within a corrugated cardboard sleeve. When unfolded, the cardboard sleeve can then be converted into a makeshift record player, allowing you to play the record by just using the cardboard sleeve and a pencil to turn the record. In case you’re worried that you wouldn’t know how to set it up, the (very simple) instructions are printed on the cardboard sleeve for you.

Do you think that RIM’s BlackBerry Slider will just be called the 9930, or will it have a name like the other models such as the Storm, Bold, Curve etc? A tidbit of information has just surfaced today, from an interview with the CEO of a RIM parts supplier (Woojeon & Handan). Apparently RIM will be launching a brand new BlackBerry “T” phone next month, which is aimed at competing with the iPhone (don’t all the phones already do this?) While it’s not entirely sure what the “T” could stand for, but speculation is that it could indicate the previously hinted codename “Talladega”. Do you have any theories that you think are possible?

We were first blown away by James Bond's heroics when he drove a BMW 7 Series using his Sony Ericsson handset, but this time round it is no fiction - Dave Phipps has come up with an iPod touch software which will be able to control his 1968 Pontiac GTO. This is made possible thanks to the RedEye system which can remotely control the car's ignition, radio, doors and aothers with an iPod Touch. Just make sure your iPod touch has enough juice to fiddle with all the settings, but good thing there is always a manual override for it.

We often think of Panasonic's Viera TV as a really large appliance, but this time round they have taken the shrinking gun and gave it a good zap, resulting in the Viera portable TV range. Featuring Panasonic’s latest 10.1” a-Si TFT displays at 1,024 × 600 resolution, the DMP-BV200 and DMP-HV100 will allow you to watch TV, DVD and Blu-ray (for the BV200 only), while playing nice with all forms of AVCHD video from various sources. Apart from that, it can also handle DivX files with aplomb from either a USB device or an SD memory card. Alternatively, you can also hook either one up to the Panasonic Viera Home Theater system and DVR, thanks to the DY-WL10 Wi-Fi dongle.

Are you a geek and would love to have an OS-powered vehicle? Look no further than the Roewe 350 from China which will be launched on April 23rd at the Beijing Auto Show. What makes the Roewe 350 so different from the rest? Well, it is powered by Google's own Android operating system, which in turn allows it to access the Internet straight from your car while supporting chat functionality - not advisable whenever you're behind the wheel. It won't be a gimped OS since it will be Android 2.1, so we are interested to see just how the whole thing will pan out when available.

At long last, it looks as though USB Mass Storage Device Support for the Xbox 360 will be a reality according to a document that was authored by a senior software development engineer at Microsoft. This document mentioned that due to "increased market penetration of high-capacity, high throughput USB mass storage devices, a 2010 Xbox 360 system update" is imminent, enabling consumers to save and load game data from USB devices in a jiffy. We will keep a keen eye out for this one as spring rolls around.

Add to myYahoo! If you were excited over the announcement of the Android 2.1 update for the Motorola Droid, you’ll probably want to hold on to that feeling, as there is a spot of bad news. Word is out that the update has been delayed, and to make things worse, there isn’t any release date mentioned in the leaked internal company documentation. If you were periodically checking Verizon’s website to see if the update was released on time, you’ll now know why the update isn’t on Verizon’s site yet. Hopefully Verizon won’t sit on this issue for too long. After all, we all want a bit more of that Android 2.1 goodness, right?
